Explore 29 Fresh Cards from Magic's TMNT Set (Featuring a Commander-Style Deck!)

The world's beloved pizza-loving heroes are arriving to Magic: The Gathering. The popular trading card game's company, the game's creators, revealed a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion during a special event hosted at NYCC. Could this be a exciting addition or simply another Universes Beyond cash grab? We'll let you decide.

Check out below at all the details announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, along with some useful background. All items listed here launches on March 6th, 2026, except for one item — the Pizza Bundle drops a couple of weeks after on March 27.

Magic x TMNT: Main Set Cards

Before diving into all the various special decks and collections available, we’ll examine at the full lineup from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion that were revealed by Wizards. Standard booster packs for the expansion are priced at $6.99 per pack, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per pack.

Let’s explore a couple of shell-shocking details. First, a new gameplay mechanic named Sneak Attack, which is a riff on the already established Ninjutsu ability, in which players can play big creatures into the battlefield when an attacking creature isn’t blocked. The key change here is that Sneak can affect spells that aren’t creatures too. The designers also took the opportunity to clean up the ability a bit (It is treated as casting, unlike the older mechanic). Ninjutsu is staying, but it's more likely we'll see Sneak in future sets from now on.

“If we ever were to return to Kamigawa, it’s possible we’d use Ninjutsu because that's where it was developed and it is iconic of that world,” a senior game designer stated. “However in other settings, because the mechanics are smoother and Sneak will be in standard, it's more likely we’ll use Sneak.”

That second variant of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai, is among four cards with special art created specifically for the set by TMNT co-creator the co-creator.

Oh, and, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which allows playing game cards outside of your main deck, so was I. Yet according to the developers, that's now a official card in all formats of Magic.

In any case, below are the extremely bizarre full-art lands from this set:

As per the company’s existing guidelines, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. The designers state they were careful to ensure the cards and mechanics meshed well with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.

“I led the development for over a year and we were aware it was going to be Standard-legal and what other sets were going to be alongside it in Standard,” the designer says. “We designed to ensure that there's synergy with certain expansions like Edge of Eternities.”

For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a Izzet archetype focused on artifact cards.

“They combine to offer the components for a fun Standard-legal deck,” the designer added.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power

After declining to design any pre-constructed Commander decks for the Spider-Man set and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, the company is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it includes six distinct legendary creatures who could work as your commander depending on how you pair them (five cards have a special Partner mechanic named “Character Select” that lets you start with two of them in the command zone rather than only one). Check them out below:

The Turtle Power deck is set at $69.99, although that could easily go up based on demand. Wizards told that it includes 43 brand-new cards altogether, which means an additional 37 Turtle-themed cards besides the six legendary commanders pictured above. (Calculating roughly, this suggests about 20 reprinted cards if we assume the deck comes with 37 land cards.)

What will the TMNT version of the iconic Sol Ring look like? Fans must wait and see.

TMNT Bundle (Regular)

Typically, the company is offering a collection. This one is priced at $69.99 and contains the following:

  • 9 Standard Boosters
  • 15 Traditional foil basic lands
  • 15 Non-foil basic lands
  • Two helper cards
  • 1 Traditional foil promo card
  • One Oversized spindown life counter
  • One Card-storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

Here’s a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, primarily because it comes in what looks like a pizza box. Each pizza-themed bundle costs $99.99 and includes the following:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • 1 Premium Booster
  • Twenty-five Non-foil pizza-themed lands
  • 5 Foil pizza-themed lands
  • Two Traditional foil pizza bundle promo cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • 1 Large life tracker
  • One Card-storage box

For those curious about the “pizza bundle promo” is, it’s basically a reprint of an older card featuring brand-new Turtle-themed art. The team revealed an example for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of master Splinter sprinkling toppings on a pizza slice. In total, there are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.

This special bundle launches a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This unique product is designed for a four-person draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

  • 12 Standard Boosters (the perfect amount four people to draft)
  • 1 Collector Booster (aka, the prize for coming in first)
  • Ninety Regular land cards (for building your draft deck)
  • Ten Regular double-sided tokens
  • 1 drafting guide (a one-sheet instruction sheet to drafting the set)

Cooperative Play Set

Finally, the developers are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its continued initiative to develop Magic products aimed at new players. Here, the cooperative set is a special set of decks that allow two players join forces to face a “Boss” enemy deck that pilots itself.

The general idea is that every Boss card grants special abilities to the creature cards included in the boss deck. Each Boss automatically casts an additional card each turn, and you’ll start off fighting {one Boss|
